Learn a skill you can use in your next conversation

You need to give a colleague feedback about a missed commitment. Before you meet, you'd like to work out how to explain the issue and respond if the discussion becomes difficult. A focused lesson gives you an approach to try, and practicing aloud helps you find wording you're comfortable using.

Rapport Score's Belt System connects those lessons with live voice roleplay and review of your real conversations. Work through the learning for your current belt with a situation like this in mind. You'll have a practical reason to use the skill as you work toward the next level.

Give the lesson a practical purpose

Your conversation feedback can help you identify a useful focus. You might be working on asking clearer questions, acknowledging a concern, or allowing an answer to finish. Bring that focus to the learning, along with a situation where you want to use the skill. It's easier to see the value of an approach when you can picture the conversation it could help.

The Belt System includes lessons assigned to your current level, with associated roleplay. Work through the video and connect the approach to your own conversations. If you're working with a coach, discuss how the assigned learning fits the goal you've agreed on together.

Try the approach in your own words

From a lesson, you can move into practice with Ask Alex. The live voice roleplay gives you a counterpart who responds, so you can use the skill as the exchange unfolds. Feedback after the session helps you understand what to work on in another attempt.

You may find that a sentence you liked on the page feels awkward when you say it. That's a useful discovery to make during practice. Adjust the wording while keeping the purpose of the response in view. For the feedback discussion, you might try a more direct explanation of what happened, then listen carefully to the reply before deciding what to ask next.

Work through the requirements for your belt

The learning requirement for advancement includes every lesson assigned to your current belt. You'll need to watch each video and pass its associated roleplay. When several lessons are assigned, each has its own work to complete.

That makes lesson progress useful for planning. You can see which learning still needs attention and return to the practice involved. Advancement also considers performance across all seven Rapport Dimensions and consistency in qualifying real conversations, connecting the learning to how you communicate beyond the practice session.

Bring the skill into a conversation that matters

Choose a relevant opportunity to use what you've practiced. For the feedback discussion, you might focus on stating the issue clearly and giving the other person space to respond. Pay attention to the exchange and what you need to follow up on afterward.

When you review a later recording in Rapport Score, return to that moment. Consider which part of the approach you used, what happened next, and what you'd like to try again. You may decide to repeat the lesson, return to roleplay, or bring a question to your coach. Each review helps you choose a useful next step.

Give clients meaningful work between sessions

If you're a coach, connect the learning to a specific client goal and agree on what you'll discuss at the next session. Your client can work through lessons and practice independently, then bring back an experience you can explore together. You can use your time to address the difficult part and help the client adapt the skill to the situation.

If you deliver training, use relevant Belt System lessons and practice to reinforce the communication skills your program addresses. Give participants a reason to return to the material and an opportunity to discuss its use. This provides a structure for continued development after the scheduled training ends.
